Black Rock Collective

Black Rock Collective (BRC) is a climbing group committed to creating an inclusive and supportive community for the Black, African American, and African populations in the Bay Area. Our primary event, Black Rock Climb Night, serves as a welcoming platform for families, kids, and individuals of all backgrounds to explore the exhilarating sport of climbing without fear of judgment. We understand that financial barriers may exist, so we actively provide economic assistance for guest passes and gear to ensure that cost is never a limiting factor.

 

Founded in 2019, BRC embraces climbers of all skill levels, from beginners taking their first "steps" on the wall to experienced athletes honing their craft. We take pride in fostering Black joy in climbing as we cultivate a safe learning environment where everyone can develop their skills and confidence. Through our coordinated meetups and our dedicated WhatsApp community geared towards impromptu sessions, we aim to empower Black individuals to boldly work towards their climbing goals.

 

With a firm commitment to providing an encouraging and inclusive atmosphere, we strive to empower Black climbers to thrive and achieve their personal goals. Together, we celebrate the camaraderie and joy that arises when Black folks come together to pursue their passion for climbing.
